P ayson is a beautiful place to camp. It is close to home and only takes about an hour to get there. It has many streams running thru the area. They stock fish in these streams so it is possible to catch Trout if you like to fish. There is a refreshing waterfall nearby but beware- it is tough to get to, you actually have to climb into the area no matter which way you approach. The water that has pooled up below the fall is always cold, even in the middle of Summer. As tempted as you might be to jump in, check it first. This is our favorite spot to camp in the close to home! The lower Mongollan rim is also accessible from here.
