Peralta Canyon Trail

About the trail: A quick route into the central Superstitions. The trail follows the canyon floor for a mile, criss-crossing Peralta Creek, then climbs gradually to Weaver's Needle. Turn around here, at 2.2 miles, or continue into East Boulder Canyon.
How to get there: From Apache Junction, go eight miles east on U.S. Route 60, to Forest Service Road 77. Turn left on the dirt road, which is between mileposts 204 and 205. The trailhead is at the end of the road, 7.2 miles from the highway.
Tips: This is a popular hike, especially on weekends during the winter. Bring along plenty of water. Call the Tonto National Forest at (602) 225-5200 for more information and maps.
